Background

My mantra is simple; Behind every computer screen interaction is a real human being. I’m Vera, an Informatics graduate from the University of Washington with a focus on Human-Computer Interaction and a passion for visual storytelling through design.

I began my journey in web development, but over time transitioned into a multidisciplinary design path—focusing on graphic design, branding, and UI/UX. I have over 3 years of experience working across a range of projects, including brand identity systems, digital asset creation, website design, mobile interfaces, and front-end development. My work blends creativity with strategy, allowing me to craft visually compelling and cohesive experiences across platforms.

My skill set spans branding, graphic design, UI/UX design, web design, and photo editing, with a strong attention to typography, layout, and visual consistency. I regularly use tools like Figma, Illustrator, and Canva to develop high-fidelity designs and assets, and I’m always exploring new techniques to refine my craft.

At the core of my design approach is a deep focus on people. I value research and thoughtful iteration, using insights to guide creative decisions and ensure that every design is not only visually engaging, but also intuitive, accessible, and meaningful. I’m driven by opportunities where I can combine strong visual design with purposeful user experiences to create impactful digital work.

Hobbies

Outside of UX design I adore the PNW, so if I’m not designing you’ll most likely catch me outdoors. I like to run, ski, hike, bike, and swim. Being outside is where I find a lot of the inspiration for my design work and color implementation. The colors in the mountains are the most vivid and striking shades I’ve ever seen. I don’t think I could ever get tired of visiting these places.

I also like to draw in my free time. Drawing allows me to mentally and physically relax after a long week. I could keep drawing for hours on end if I had the time to do so. Recently, I’ve been working on customizing my tumbler. I found some art that I liked and decided to recreate it on the tumbler’s surface.
